Match the Branch Shape to the Surface

A straight, tiered silhouette gives you a clear tree on a small tag. Scroll branches and looped outlines leave a lighter mark but introduce more narrow cuts. Decorated trees include their own baubles, hearts or garlands; a repeat pattern is useful for a larger strip of wrapping paper rather than a single central tree.

Measure the height of your card or window space first. Leave room above the top star and below the trunk, then use a paper proof to check that the lower branches fit. For a repeated border, mark a light baseline before repositioning the sheet. Pair a simple tree with ornament stencils, or compare numbered Advent layouts when the tree forms part of a countdown.

Choosing Your Christmas Tree Stencils

A plain tiered fir suits a small sign; baubles and garlands need more room. Keep the white stripes between branch levels and avoid cutting across the small connections around enclosed ornaments.
