Wreath, Holly Sprig or Poinsettia?

Use a wreath when your project needs an open centre for a name or greeting. Holly works as a corner, a small sprig or a repeating border; leave room for its pointed leaves and separate berries. Poinsettias create a larger flower-shaped focal point with overlapping bracts and a small central cluster.

Check the inner wreath edge and the smallest spaces around berries or flower centres on a paper proof. Painting too heavily can join openings that the white bridges are meant to separate. For a border, mark the spacing before repositioning one sprig rather than trying to align a whole sheet by eye. Compare ornaments for a geometric companion, or use the letter generator for the wording in an open wreath centre.

Choosing Your Christmas Foliage Stencils

Keep the white gaps between overlapping leaves, berries and flower bracts. A wreath frames an open centre; a sprig or poinsettia is easier to place beside a greeting on a small card.
